Prizes
1st Place – $10,000 Check
• Winner will receive a check in the amount of $10,000.
• Important Tax Information:• This prize is considered taxable income under federal and state law.
• The winner will be required to complete a W-9 tax form before receiving the prize.
• Taxes owed will depend on the winner’s state of residence and personal tax situation.
• Sump Pump Geeks will issue the check after collecting the necessary information for tax reporting.
2nd Place – $1,000 Cash (Check)
• Submit five (5) or more referrals to qualify.
• Eligible entries will be entered into a separate drawing for this prize.
• Cash Prize will be awarded in the form of a check.
3rd Place – $10 Off Annual Maintenance (Stackable)
• Earn a $10 discount towards your next annual sump pump system service.
• Stackable Benefit: For each referral submitted, you earn an additional $10 off.• Example: If you win 3rd place and submitted three referrals, you will receive $30 off your annual maintenance.
• There’s no limit to the number of discounts that can be stacked.
Employee Incentive
• Employees are not eligible to win customer prizes.
• However, if an employee’s referral is selected as a winning entry, that employee will receive a $500 reward.
Winner Requirements
Winners must agree to:
• Provide a valid photo ID
• Provide a photo at the time of prize acceptance.
• Give a testimonial about their experience with Sump Pump Geeks.
• Grant Sump Pump Geeks permission to use this photo and testimonial for marketing purposes, including but not limited to our website, social media channels, and promotional materials.

Tax Obligations for Cash Prizes
1. Form of Prize
• The 1st Place prize ($10,000) and 2nd Place prize ($1,000) will be awarded in the form of a check. The 3rd place prize will be a credit that can be used towards a annual maintenance or maintenance plan
2. Tax Liability
• All federal, state, and local taxes associated with the receipt or use of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.
• 1st and 2nd place prizes are considered taxable income under U.S. law.
3. 1099 Reporting
• Winners of the 1st Place and 2nd Place prizes will be required to complete all necessary tax documentation, including but not limited to Form W‑9.
• Sump Pump Geeks will issue a Form 1099‑MISC to the winner for the calendar year in which the prize is awarded, reporting the value of the prize as income to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
4. Compliance Requirement
• Failure to provide required tax information (including a valid Social Security Number or Taxpayer Identification Number) will result in forfeiture of the prize.
• By accepting the prize, winners agree to comply with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
5. Prize Application Option
• Winners of the 1st and 2nd place prizes may choose to:• Accept the payout by check (subject to taxes and 1099 reporting), OR
• Apply the full prize amount towards any products or services offered by Sump Pump Geeks.
• The entire prize amount must be applied in one form — either as a check payout or fully towards any products/services we offer.
• Winners cannot split the prize between services and cash payout.
6. No Substitution
• Prizes may not be substituted, transferred, or exchanged for cash other than the check provided.
